Graduate Employability Project, India
The Graduate Employability project was introduced in India in December 2024 in 16 SOUs to contribute to strengthening institutional effectiveness for graduate employability in partner institutions. The project exemplifies a strategic response to the pressing need for employability-focused education. IT focuses on creating a more job-centric education system by identifying skill shortages, updating curricula, and aligning academic programmes with industry demands. By addressing systemic gaps and fostering innovation, the project promises to transform India’s Open Universities into hubs of inclusive, future-ready learning. This initiative not only prepares graduates for the workforce but also positions India as a leader in education reform and workforce development.
